Job Description: Paediatric Complex Care Nurse 

Location: NR3, Norfolk
Hours:

• Days: Mon, Wed, Sat — 11am–7pm
• Nights: Fri — 8pm–8am

Staffing: 2:1 (1 Nurse + 1 HCA)

Overview

We are recruiting Paediatric Nurses to support a 15-year-old with complex medical needs including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, congenital CMV, recurrent chest infections, gastrointestinal issues, and severe learning disability. Care is delivered in the family home as part of a consistent team.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor for deterioration and escalate concerns.
• Provide respiratory care: oral suctioning, chest physio, oxygen support, saturation monitoring.
• Manage enteral feeding: gastrostomy/jejunostomy care, feeding, medication, stoma care.
• Support seizure management and postural needs.
• Deliver personal care and daily living support.
• Keep accurate clinical notes and follow care plans.

Training Provided

• Respiratory care
• Epilepsy
• Gastrostomy/jejunostomy care
• Medication administration
• Chest physiotherapy (training at The Nook)
• Postural management
• Recognition of the deteriorating child

Requirements

Nurses: NMC registered, paediatric experience preferred.
HCAs: Experience with children or complex care.
All staff: Good communication, reliability, safeguarding awareness, willingness to train.

Compliance

Enhanced DBS, mandatory training, competency sign-off, paediatric nurse oversight required.
