Healthcare Assistant/Mental Health Support Worker

We are recruiting experienced Healthcare Assistants / Mental Health Support Workers to support an adult living in a supported living setting in Shrewsbury / Telford.

This role involves supporting an individual with complex mental health needs, helping them live safely and independently within their home environment.

Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker, you will:

• Provide person-centred care and emotional support

• Support individuals with mental health needs and behaviours that challenge

• Assist with daily living tasks and routines

• Encourage independence and wellbeing

• Promote community engagement and positive activities

• Monitor wellbeing and report concerns to senior staff

• Maintain clear and accurate care documentation

Qualifications

✔ Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs

✔ Experience in supported living, complex care, or residential care

✔ Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner

✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills

✔ Compassionate, patient and reliable approach

Desirable:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care

• Experience supporting complex mental health or brain injury

• Training in PMVA / MAPA / CPI / de-escalation
