Learning Care Support Assistant (Buccal Trained)
Location: Uxbridge
Working Days: Tuesday – Friday
Working Hours: 8:45 AM – 4:15 PM
Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Care Support Assistant to support students with additional needs within a college setting in Uxbridge. The successful candidate will provide both learning and personal care support, ensuring students can access education safely and effectively.
This role requires a candidate who is Buccal Midazolam trained and has experience supporting individuals with epilepsy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Assist students with classroom activities and learning tasks to support their educational development.
- Provide personal care and wellbeing support where required.
- Monitor and respond to epilepsy-related needs, including administering Buccal Midazolam in line with care plans and training.
- Work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and healthcare professionals to support student learning and safety.
- Follow individual support plans, risk assessments, and medical protocols.
- Support students to develop independence, confidence, and social skills within the college environment.
- Maintain accurate records and incident reports where necessary.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
- Buccal Midazolam trained (essential).
- Proven experience supporting individuals with epilepsy.
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant / Care Support Assistant or similar role.
- Experience working with young people or adults with additional needs or disabilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patient, caring, and reliable approach.
Desirable
- Experience working in a college, SEN, or educational setting.
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care, SEND, or Support Work.
