We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to provide one-to-one support for a student with complex medical needs in a college environment. This is an opportunity to use your healthcare skills in an educational setting—helping a young person thrive both academically and personally.

 

Purpose of the Role:

You’ll work closely with a student who requires support for epilepsy, dysphagia, anaphylaxis, and PEG feeding, some of whom may be wheelchair users. Your role is to ensure they are fully supported during lessons, lunch, and throughout the college day—while promoting their independence and inclusion.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one care and support throughout the college day
  • Assist the learner in lessons and help integrate learning with the teacher
  • Support with personal care, feeding, and lunch supervision
  • Administer medication and respond to medical needs appropriately
  • Ensure the student’s safety, dignity, and well-being at all times

 

Essential Skills and Up-to-Date Training In:

  • Gastrostomy/PEG feeding
  • Epilepsy and seizure management
  • Epi-pen use for anaphylaxis
  • Manual handling
  • Dysphagia care
  • Medication administration

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
