Coyle Homecare Show Support for the Child Brain Injury Trust

On Thursday the 12th of September, the Coyle Homecare team participated in a charity rounders tournament to help raise vital funds for the Child Brain Injury Trust. We thoroughly enjoyed the event and were extremely proud to support such an important organisation in their efforts to look after families and professionals affected by childhood acquired brain injuries.

As one of the UK’s leading providers of homecare services, Coyle Homecare are fully aware of the immense difficulties that families face when caring for a loved one with an acquired brain injury. We do our upmost best to ensure they benefit from the very best care in the comfort of their home and the research conducted by the Child Brain Injury Trust is pivotal to our ability to offer tailored complex care packages.

Who are the Child Brain Injury Trust?

Established in 1991 by a group of health professionals as a research institution aiming to provide information regarding the effects of ‘traumatic’ brain injuries, the Child Brain Injury Trust is now the leading voluntary sector organisation providing emotional and practical support to families and professionals affected by childhood acquired brain injuries across the United Kingdom.

Their dedicated team of professional staff and volunteers offer their expertise and energy every day to improve the quality of life of those affected by a brain injury. Their vision is for a future where all children and young people with an acquired brain injury are diagnosed promptly and receive the support, they and their families need to reach their full potential.

This aligns almost symmetrically with Coyle Homecare’s mission to provide the highest quality of care to every individual we serve, offering them the independence and dignity they deserve. It’s the reason we’re determined to support the organisation in any manner possible and the charity rounders tournament offered the perfect opportunity for us to play our part in making a difference.

How the Child Brain Injury Trust and Coyle Homecare provide support

By working together, the Child Brain Injury Trust and Coyle Homecare can help one another to reach a wider audience so that families know we are here to help them. As a trusted provider of complex care packages, Coyle Homecare can provide individualised support that enables children and their families to move forward following acquired brain injury.

Those who have suffered from an ABI will often struggle with cognitive impairments and challenging behaviours such as their speed of thinking, memory, speech, and concentration. Our carers work closely with their family and friends to fully understand the individual’s care needs so accurate care can be administered in the comfort of their own home.

As a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered agency, we have been at the forefront of the homecare industry for almost 20 years now.  The Child Brain Injury Trust have a similarly vast amount of experience and reflect our core values of Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration and Respect.

What happened on the day?

Taking place at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, the Child Brain Injury Trust Charity Rounders Event  consisted of a fun afternoon of drinks, rounders games, team building and most importantly, fundraising. The theme for the event was retro back to school and we were impressed by everyone's ability to remember the rules of the classic PE lesson game on the day!

Coyle Homecare donated to the Child Brain Injury Trust to enter a team of our own at the inaugural tournament. We thoroughly enjoyed socialising with many like-minded individuals who were all playing a role in improving the quality of life for individuals with an acquired brain injury.
