We are proud to announce that Coyle Homecare has officially been registered and approved by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), the independent regulator responsible for monitoring the quality, safety, and effectiveness of social care and childcare services in Wales.
This approval marks an exciting milestone in our continued commitment to delivering exceptional care services. Following a thorough inspection, we have been recognised as a trusted provider of complex care for both adults and children in their own homes across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan; including Barry, Dinas Powys, Penarth, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, Rhoose, St Athan, and Aberthaw.
Care Inspectorate Wales acts on behalf of the Welsh Government to register and inspect care services across the country, including domiciliary care, residential homes, supported living services, and childcare providers. Their work ensures that the people of Wales receive safe, high-quality care and support.
CIW inspections evaluate services under four key themes:
Well Being:
This theme looks at how well care services support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of individuals. Inspectors assess whether people are treated with dignity and respect, have choice and control over their care, and are supported to maintain meaningful relationships and routines. Promoting independence and improving quality of life are key outcomes under this category.
Care and Support:
CIW evaluates whether individuals’ care needs are being met in a timely, appropriate, and person-centred manner. This includes reviewing care plans, risk assessments, communication, and involvement of individuals in decisions about their care. It also includes the provider’s ability to meet complex medical and emotional needs safely and effectively.
Leadership and Management:
Strong leadership is central to high-quality care. CIW examines the effectiveness of governance, training, staffing, recruitment, and how a service learns from incidents or feedback. They assess whether leaders foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement, and ensure that resources are in place to maintain safe and consistent care.
Environment:
Although Coyle Homecare provides support within individuals’ own homes, this theme still applies. Inspectors assess whether the service supports people to feel safe, comfortable, and secure in their environment. It also includes infection control practices, use of equipment, and whether the home environment promotes independence and dignity.
Using a risk-based, intelligence-led approach, CIW inspects services regularly and publishes detailed reports highlighting performance, strengths, and areas for improvement. They also provide ratings ranging from Excellent to Requires Significant Improvement, offering transparency for families and service users.
Being registered by CIW confirms that our services meet the regulatory standards set by the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016. This approval not only reflects the dedication and professionalism of our team but also gives confidence to families that Coyle Homecare is a safe, reliable, and compassionate care provider.
With our CIW registration in place, we are now fully authorised to provide complex care services in the community. This includes care for individuals with long-term or progressive conditions, serious injuries, or multiple health challenges. Our services can include:
All care is delivered by trained, compassionate professionals who work closely with families, healthcare providers, and other agencies to ensure continuity and confidence in the care being delivered.
Our CIW registration is just the beginning. We will continue to uphold the highest standards of care and remain committed to providing person-centred, dignified, and empowering support to individuals and families throughout the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan region.
